Remote Learning
Bow Community Primary School ensure that plans are in place to support our children’s learning from home, should they be asked to self-isolate or stay at home due to a class closure.
What should my child expect in the first day or two of pupils being sent home?
All pupils have access to their class’ Blendspace page, where teachers will upload work and activities to support your child’s learning. In addition to Blendspace, children may log on to TT Rockstars, Ed Shed, and Duolingual, using their usual class logins.
If remote learning continues for more than two days, Bow Community Primary School will offer online lessons through an online audio and visual conferencing platform. Details on how to access these online lessons will be emailed to parents.
For safeguarding reasons, pupils are asked to attend these with a parent or carer present.
What type of learning will be provided for my child ?
Our main aim in this situation will be to keep the school day as close to normal as possible and enable your child to access input from their current class teacher or another familiar member of staff. Your child will be taught a similar curriculum remotely as they would have in school. Some of this will be via a member of staff ‘remote teaching’ and some will be through the use of alternative provision websites – e.g Edshed, TT Rockstars – or work published on the website or printed for collection
Daily reading of age appropriate texts should also be carried out.
Children may be asked to create a project in their learning from class to support their retrieval of facts and to demonstrate their understanding. Children may chose how to present their projects e.g. PowerPoint presentation, write a story create a leaflet.
What if I don’t have access to the internet?
Our learning will be accessible on any online device (e.g. laptop / phone / tablet). If you do not have access to one of these, please let us know so that we can support you with this. Until ICT access is available, we will provide a pack of work to make sure your child does not miss out. Please contact the school on 01363 82319 or email admin@bowcps.devon.sch.uk for support.
