The School Day
The school day starts at 8.55 with our EYFS and KS1 pupils entering the school via their cloakroom entrance at the front of the school, under the canopied area.
Our KS2 pupils, make their way to the back of the building, via the footpath located to the left of the building. Here they enter the playground area from 8.45; their cloakroom is located at the rear of the building, near the swimming pool.
At 8.55, children are in class, are registered and begin their learning tasks and activities. Lessons begin after registration until 10.10 when we have assembly each day.
Assemblies include focus on British Values and themes linking to cultural, diversity and social events. As generating a love for reading is of such a high priority for us at Bow, we also have a reading assembly each Wednesday morning where we share a book with the whole school.
Morning break is at 10.30 until 10.45. Lessons then continue until 12.15 for KS1 and 12.30 for KS2 pupils. An hour is taken for lunch for both key stages before afternoon lessons recommence.
The school day concludes at 3.30 with pupils exiting as they arrived.
Each school week, children will receive daily maths and English input, twice-weekly physical education lessons, one of which is taught by a dedicated sports coach.
We are also a part of the School Sports Partnership provided by Queen Elizabeth School providing access to multi-school events such as tag rugby, gymnastics, orienteering and athletics.
We boast almost one chromebook per every 2 pupils so children have excellent access to developing and improving their computing skills in many lessons.
