Bow Bears Preschool and Out of School Club

Bow Bears Pre-School CIO registered in 2018, having first opened in 1972. The pre-school opens Monday to Friday from 9.15am to 3.15pm, during term time only. We currently operate from the village hall in Bow Tuesday – Friday and are based at Bow Community Primary School on a Monday. The pre-school receives funding for the provision of free early education for children aged two, three and four years.

Bow Bears Pre-school offers a tremendous stepping stone for your child towards school induction. With excellent fun and educational equipment we are able to offer children a wonderful kick-start to their educational life.

Our Ofsted inspection in June 2022 graded us as a good setting with and outstanding award for the behaviours and attitudes of our children. The report states “Children’s behaviour is exemplary”.

Our experienced staff are qualified and highly focused on helping children gain the benefits from pre-school life. “Children are motivated to learn as they engage in the challenging and interesting curriculum. Staff skilfully support children’s ideas and extend learning as they encourage children to think and solve problems.

“Children happily explore the wide range of stimulating experiences on offer, moving freely between indoor and outdoor spaces. Activities are carefully planned to build on children’s interests and existing skills”. Our staff have high aspirations for all children who attend our setting. “Children who need additional support receive this quickly and effectively. Consequently, all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, make good progress in their learning.

Staff use their knowledge of child development to enrich the children's learning and promote our ethos of "Play, Learn, Repeat".

We welcome children under the age of two to attend our 'Teddies Toddler' group with snacks for children and refreshments available for parents or guardians.

Bow Bears Out of School Club

Our Out of School Club, which is based at Bow Community Primary School, offer bookable sessions, 5 days a week,  to provide the wraparound care for children aged 2- 11 outside of school and preschool hours.

• Breakfast Club – 8am – 9am - £5.00, which includes breakfast for all children attending.
• Afterschool Club – 3.30pm – 6pm - £8.00.

Please note, registration to attend one of the above clubs will cost an initial £10.00 registration fee.

Early years funding, childcare vouchers and tax-free childcare support these sessions.
